The Mystery?
It’s that cloud of bewilderment that hangs over many of us at some time in life – be honest: Don’t you ask yourself questions like these?
“How do I get a better job; how do I get ahead; where do I find out how to be successful; what’s the secret to it all anyway?
This paragraph has a 2 em right margin.
“How come I can’t find success when so many others seem to get it so easily?
The Mystery for most of us is . . . why some succeed and most do not; why do the likes of Branson, Gates and Buffett make it when we think we’re just as smart – and we’re certainly not lazy.
Well, maybe some are – but I’m not, you declare.
So why haven’t you got the success you desire? Are you anywhere near the altitude you’re aiming for – or are you wondering whether it’s worth trying any more?
What’s your story of achieving altitude – or not?

I’ve listened to a lot of success stories and one theme that runs throughout them is focus. People who are successful know what they want and most of them have known from an early age.
I’ve also heard stories of people who chose fields solely based on money or family or peer pressure and who ended up leaving those fields as they had no true interest in them.
To me, and of course it is a highly individual thing what priorities people have, success has to do with finding your true talents and interests and operating in them.
Personally, I believe over a matter of time that monetary success will follow as well, for two reasons. First of all, your interest in a topic will open up your creativity and you will have product ideas of how to serve your customers. Secondly, customers can tell the difference between someone running a business solely for money, or because he or she cares about serving the customers. Customers respond accordingly.

Hi Cheryl
Customers DO respond, as you rightly observe, when it’s about them, and not about the money.
I just reviewed a book over at http://thewriteinsight.com/blog about Burg and Mann’s new creation: It’s Not About You. About focusing on others. We can’t be reminded of this too often.
